A rich and flavorful butter chicken skillet inspired by Texas Roadhouse. Tender chicken cooked in a creamy tomato sauce with aromatic spices.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cubed
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add onion, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until soft.
  3. Add chicken and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, and cayenne. Cook for 1 minute.
  5. Pour in tomato sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Add heavy cream, yogurt, and garam masala. Cook for 5 more minutes.
  7. Season with salt to taste.
  8. Garnish with fresh cilantro.
  9. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra heat, increase cayenne pepper.
  • Substitute Greek yogurt if plain yogurt is unavailable.
  • Marinate chicken in yogurt for 30 minutes for added tenderness.
