A decadent dessert combining the best of apple pie and cheesecake with a salted caramel twist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce, plus more for drizzling
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, and melted butter. Press mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared springform pan. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese and 1/2 cup granulated sugar with an electric mixer until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract and sour cream until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  5. Pour half of the cream cheese mixture over the crust. Sprinkle with half of the apple mixture. Repeat with remaining cream cheese mixture and apple mixture.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool completely on a wire rack. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
  8. Once chilled, drizzle with salted caramel sauce and sprinkle with sea salt before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for a smooth batter.
  • Do not open the oven door frequently during baking to prevent cracks.
  • For best results, chill the cheesecake overnight.
