One Pan Parmesan Orzo with Shrimp

A quick and flavorful one-pan dish featuring shrimp and orzo with a rich parmesan finish.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup orzo
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add shrimp and cook for 2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add orzo and toast for 1 minute.
  5. Pour in chicken broth, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a simmer.
  6. Cover and cook for 10 minutes until orzo is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  7. Stir in parmesan cheese and cooked shrimp. Garnish with parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh or frozen shrimp—thaw if frozen.
  • Substitute vegetable broth for a vegetarian version.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes for desired spice level.
