Ingredients
Scale
4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Lemon wedges for serving (optional)
Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, and black pepper.
Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour half of the glaze over them. Turn to coat evenly. Marinate for at least 15 minutes at room temperature, or up to 30 minutes in the refrigerator. Reserve the remaining glaze.
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates.
Place the salmon fillets, skin-side down if applicable, on the preheated grill. Grill for 4-5 minutes per side, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
During the last few minutes of grilling, brush the salmon with the reserved glaze.
Remove the salmon from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.
Serve immediately with lemon wedges and fresh parsley or cilantro, if desired.
Notes
Adjust the amount of honey and soy sauce to your taste.
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the glaze.
You can also bake or pan-fry the salmon if you don’t have a grill.
Store any leftover salmon in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
