Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (18 ounce) tube prepared polenta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 (15 ounce) can marinara sauce, or your favorite homemade marinara
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  2. Slice the polenta tube into 1/2-inch thick rounds.
  3. Brush both sides of each polenta slice with olive oil.
  4. Grill the polenta for 3-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and slightly crispy.
  5. While the polenta is grilling, gently warm the marinara sauce in a small saucepan over low heat.
  6. Arrange the grilled polenta slices on a serving platter.
  7. Spoon the warm marinara sauce over the polenta.
  8. Sprinkle generously with grated Parmesan cheese.
  9. Garnish with fresh chopped basil, if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add minced garlic or red pepper flakes to the olive oil before brushing the polenta.
  • Leftover grilled polenta can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a pan or microwave.
  • You can customize this dish by adding sautéed vegetables like mushrooms or bell peppers to the marinara sauce.
