Grilled Banana Boats are a fun, customizable, and easy-to-make dessert perfect for grilling. They feature bananas stuffed with your favorite toppings and cooked until warm and gooey.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe but firm bananas
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (milk, dark, or white)
  • 1/2 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts, or almonds)
  • Optional toppings: caramel sauce, shredded coconut, sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium heat.
  2. Slice each banana lengthwise down the center, being careful not to cut all the way through to the other side. You want to create a ‘boat’ for your fillings.
  3. Gently open the banana to create a pocket.
  4. Fill each banana with a generous amount of chocolate chips, marshmallows, and chopped nuts.
  5. Wrap each filled banana tightly in aluminum foil.
  6. Place the foil-wrapped bananas directly on the grill grates.
  7. Grill for 8-12 minutes, or until the chocolate and marshmallows are melted and gooey.
  8. Carefully remove the bananas from the grill using tongs.
  9. Unwrap the foil and serve immediately.
  10. Add any optional toppings like caramel sauce or shredded coconut before serving.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm bananas for the best results; overly ripe bananas may become too mushy.
  • Customize your banana boats with your favorite sweet fillings.
  • These are great for camping trips or backyard barbecues.
  • Be careful when unwrapping the hot foil.
