This recipe features tender beef seasoned with aromatic five-spice powder, served alongside crisp sesame greens. It’s a flavorful and satisfying meal that’s easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, cut into thin strips
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cups mixed greens (such as spinach, kale, or bok choy)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the beef strips, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, five-spice powder, garlic powder, and ground ginger. Mix well to coat the beef. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook, stirring frequently, until browned and cooked through, about 3-5 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Add the mixed greens to the same skillet. Cook, stirring, until wilted, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the greens. Toss to combine.
  5. Sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
