Easy and delicious teriyaki chicken made in a crockpot with minimal prep.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the crockpot.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, ginger, and black pepper.
  3. Pour the sauce over the chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3 hours.
  5. Optional: Mix cornstarch and water, stir into the sauce in the last 30 minutes to thicken.
  6. Shred chicken with forks and serve over rice.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the sauce overnight.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey.
  • Serve with steamed vegetables or a side salad.
