- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, grated
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
- Place chicken breasts in the crockpot.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, ginger, and black pepper.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3 hours.
- Optional: Mix cornstarch and water, stir into the sauce in the last 30 minutes to thicken.
- Shred chicken with forks and serve over rice.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the sauce overnight.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey.
- Serve with steamed vegetables or a side salad.
