A simple and delicious way to cook a whole frozen chicken in the Instant Pot for a juicy and flavorful meal.

  • 1 whole frozen chicken (45 lbs)
  • 1 cup water or chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika

Instructions

  1. Place the trivet in the Instant Pot and add water or broth.
  2. Rub the frozen chicken with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  3. Place the chicken on the trivet, breast side up.
  4. Close the lid, set the valve to sealing, and cook on high pressure for 25 minutes per pound.
  5. Allow natural pressure release for 10 minutes, then quick release any remaining pressure.
  6. Check the internal temperature—it should reach 165°F.
  7. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before carving.

Notes

  • No need to thaw the chicken.
  • Adjust seasoning to your preference.
