Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 3/4 cups chocolate sandwich cookie crumbs (about 24 cookies)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, melted and cooled

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Combine cookie crumbs and melted butter in a medium bowl. Press mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.
  3. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from oven and let cool.
  4. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar with an electric mixer until smooth.
  5. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in flour, vanilla extract, sour cream, orange juice, and orange zest.
  6. Fold in melted chocolate until just combined.
  7. Pour filling over the crust in the springform pan.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the center is almost set.
  9. Turn off oven and let cheesecake cool in the oven with the door ajar for 1 hour.
  10. Remove from oven and chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, use full-fat cream cheese.
  • Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for a smooth filling.
  • Do not overmix the batter once the eggs are added.
  • To prevent cracks, avoid opening the oven door frequently during baking.
  • Garnish with extra orange zest or chocolate shavings, if desired.
